About Mariel Kozberg, MD, PhD

Dr. Mariel Kozberg is a vascular neurologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. A clinician-scientist, her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying blood vessel damage and rupture in the small vessel disease cerebral amyloid angiopathy, a leading cause of intracerebral hemorrhage. Clinically, Dr. Kozberg attends on the inpatient stroke and acute stroke services. Her outpatient practice is centered on providing care to patients at risk for intracerebral hemorrhage, including intracerebral hemorrhage survivors.

Dr. Kozberg received her BS in Chemical-Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed her MD and PhD degrees at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, after which she completed a Neurology Residency and Vascular Neurology Fellowship at Mass General Brigham.
