Our services include:

Acupuncture

The MGH-CHA Wellness Center acupuncturist is a board-certified, licensed acupuncturist, who has successfully completed the MGH credentialing process. Acupuncture involves using hair-thin, sterile, disposable needles, that are discarded after one-time use. The gentle insertion of the needles at specific points on the body enhance the body’s self-healing processes. Benefits may include helping to reduce stress/anxiety and helping to relieve symptoms such as pain and fatigue. Many people experience a very deep state of relaxation.


Adult Primary Care/Internal Medicine

Your primary care physician (PCP) coordinates your care and makes sure you receive whatever services you need. You can turn to your PCP for routine physical exams, preventive medicine, diagnosis and treatment of complicated medical problems and referrals to specialists.


Counseling and Behavioral Services

We offer confidential counseling for individuals, families, children, adolescents and adults in our two locations through our Mental Health & Social Services Clinic. Our experienced mental health teams can help you and your family address behavioral, emotional and substance abuse issues. We can also aid you with referrals to other helpful community resources. Dermatology

The dermatology department consists of a board-certified dermatologist who delivers state-of-the-art care to patients with rare and common conditions of the skin, hair and nails.


Diabetic Education

We are a certified American Diabetic Association (ADA) Diabetic education site. Our team can help you learn to manage your diabetes


Hepatitis C Prevention and Education

We offer community based treatment, prevention and support services.


Imaging (X-Ray)

MGH Charlestown HealthCare Imaging provides patients with the latest diagnostic imaging technology. X-rays are all read by the Mass General sub-specialized radiologists.


Interpreter Services

On-site interpreters are available to translate in Spanish. We also have written translation for informational handouts and or signage within the health center. IPOP (Interpreter Phone on a Pole) is available for languages not offered by on-site interpreters.


Living Tobacco-Free

MGH Community Health Associates’ Living Tobacco-Free program helps people quit cigarettes and other forms of tobacco. Trained coaches work one-on-one with people who are thinking about quitting tobacco to help them create an individualized plan for quitting. Coaches coordinate with a person’s medical providers and will make referrals to other helpful resources. Living Tobacco-Free services are free to everyone, without any co-pay. Staff are available to help you navigate the health care system and connect you to community agencies.


Neurology

The neurology department includes a board certified Neurologist who provides comprehensive consultative services, access to diagnostic testing and treatment for a broad spectrum of nerve disorders.


Obstetrics and Gynecology

Our gynecologists, obstetricians and/or midwives provide a woman with gynecological care from her adolescent years onward. Pregnant women can receive all their prenatal care at MGH Charlestown and then deliver at Mass General’s Mother and Child Center, which has neonatal and specialists and a neonatal intensive care nursery. Learn more.


Pediatric and Adolescent Care

Our pediatricians provide complete care for your child from birth through adolescence. Our services include regular check-ups, immunizations, health screenings, developmental monitoring and same-day sick visits. Additionally, we provide coordination of health evaluations for both school and camp program. Learn more.


Phlebotomy Services

Experienced phlebotomists provide pediatric and adult phlebotomy services to patients under the care of a Mass General Brigham Clinician.


Physical Therapy

The Physical and Occupational Therapy Department at the Charlestown HealthCare Center provides preventive and rehabilitative services to patients with a wide variety of functional limitations and disabilities. As a new patient, you'll receive a thorough examination to identify the source of your pain or dysfunction. Then you and your therapist will work together to develop goals for your therapy and design a plan of care to restore you to your highest level of mobility and function for work, recreation and all of the activities of living. Patient and family education and ongoing communication with your physician are priorities for our therapists.


Podiatry

The Podiatry department provides expert clinical care and state-of-the-art treatment options for the entire range of foot care.


Roger H. Sweet Patient and Family Learning Center

The Roger H. Sweet Learning Center is committed to providing a wealth of resources to educate and inform our community about ways to stay healthy, prevent illness, and make the right treatment choices for chronic conditions. The Learning Center serves patients and families by providing personalized education sessions and group programs on a variety of health and wellness topics. Hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Walk-ins welcome.


Transportation

We have a wheelchair accessible van to provide transportation for medical appointments for elderly and disabled patients who live in the community. Please call to make a reservation: 617-724-8197.


Wellness Programs

We provide a variety of no-cost and affordable wellness programs including mind-body groups for reducing and relieving stress, group fitness training and seasonal walking club and acupuncture.


WIC (Women, Infants & Children's Nutrition Program) and Nutrition

Our registered dietitian provides one-on-one counseling for adults, adolescents and children. We provide a nutrition assessment and educate our patients who have heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and weight issues. The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program provides nutrition counseling, referrals and food checks to income eligible prenatal women, post-partum women, infants and children up to age five. Fathers, guardians and foster parents are also welcome to apply for WIC services for children in their care.
