In my 7 years as an MGfC child life specialist, I’ve seen the many important roles that child life plays during a child’s hospital experience. Children often come to the hospital with anxiety and nerves, worried about the unknowns. When I meet a patient with these feelings and then see them leaving that same day with a sense of accomplishment and mastery it reminds me why I do what I do.
