MGHfC and Me: Hey Everyone, I’m Ben. I fell in love with MGH during interview season and it was my clear first choice residency. Though I knew I was interested in caring for seriously ill children before starting residency, I decided to pursue a career in Neonatology after my intern rotation in the MGH NICU. The mentorship I’ve had in preparing for fellowship has been phenomenal, and I feel supported and inspired on a daily basis. Additionally, my co-residents are truly awesome, and I’m continually impressed by their compassion, intelligence, and humility. Even on the toughest days, I can always think of heading to the hospital as an opportunity to hang out with and learn from friends. Outside of the hospital, I live with my wife, Kathryn, my daughter, Maddie, and my big fuzzy dog, Hudson. I love to ski when it snows and go running with Hudson when I can convince him to get off the couch.

Fun Fact: I design and brew my own beer and enter them into local competitions. I'm always working on something new, so ask me what I've got on draft! I'm happy to share. :-)
