Dr. Alice Newton is the Medical Director of the Child Protection Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, working with a team which evaluates children who may be victims of child maltreatment.
Dr Newton is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. She has been an invited speaker at local, national, and international locations. Dr. Newton participates in research with local and national colleagues, and has written articles and chapters on many forms of child abuse.
Dr. Newton sits on the Massachusetts Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Board, and is the medical director of the Massachusetts Pediatric SANE Program. She also sits on the board of the Massachusetts Childre?s Alliance. She is a member of the Suffolk County Child Fatality Review Committee, the Massachusetts Shaken Baby Prevention Coalition, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Massachusetts Medical Society.
