About Sunita Srivastava, MD
Sunita Srivastava, MD, is a board-certified vascular surgeon in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. She also serves as the division’s director of quality and radiation safety officer. Her clinical interests include traditional (open) and minimally invasive (endovascular) therapy techniques for aortic, brachiocephalic and lower extremity vascular disease. She works with her patients to create personalized treatment plans and discusses endovascular and open surgical options with them.
Dr. Srivastava completed her medical school and residency at SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse, NY, where she also served as a clinical instructor in trauma, critical care and burns treatment prior to completion of her vascular fellowship at the University of Rochester. Her fellowship training at the University of Rochester included a year of interventional radiology in addition to vascular surgery. She also completed an international endovascular fellowship at the University of Malmo in Sweden.
She has authored over 50 peer reviewed publications and several book chapters. She has multiple roles in the coding and reimbursement arena for the Society for Vascular Surgery and the American Medical Association Current Procedural Terminology panel. She speaks nationally on optimal coding strategies and complex vascular surgery. She is the program director for the Vascular Surgery Integrated Residency and Independent Fellowship programs at Mass General.
In her personal life, Dr. Srivastava enjoys recreating the traditional recipes of her Asian Indian heritage and spending time with her family and black Labrador.
