Maura Monahan is a board certified adult geriatric nurse practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of New Hampshire and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at University of Massachusetts. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Maura has 8 years of acute inpatient experience working as a staff nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital specializing in the care of pre- and postoperative colorectal patient populations.

Prior to joining the NWH Colon and Rectal Surgery Specialty, Maura served as a Nurse Practitioner for the Colon and Rectal Surgery Department at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. While in this role, Maura became proficient in the evaluation and treatment of new, established, and post-operative colorectal conditions. Maura is trained in anoscopy, high-resolution anoscopy, incision and drainage management of postoperative wounds, and minimally invasive in-office procedures including hemorrhoidal banding.
