Explore This Treatment Program
Chelsea Behavioral Health is an outpatient mental health clinic embedded within the Chelsea HealthCare Center. Our staff is comprised of social workers, psychiatrists, outreach workers, psychologists and administrative staff who work collaboratively as a multidisciplinary team.
Our staff is committed to high-quality, effective treatment models. We see patients in our outpatient clinic, through school-based care and integrated within the primary care clinics.
Chelsea is a densely populated city with more than 35,000 residents and more than 20 languages spoken. Our patient population is very diverse and includes many refugees and immigrants, as well as the many generations of families that have remained here in Chelsea.
We make every effort to recruit and hire staff that mirrors our patient population. We consider having staff at Chelsea Behavioral Health with whom patients can identify an important aspect of care. Our goal is to both indicate respect for our patients and create a safe environment where patients are willing to return. More than 50% of our staff is bilingual, and our linguistic capacity includes many languages.
Through our program we aim to:
- Prevent and reduce substance use
- Increase opportunities for Boston students
- Interrupt the cycle of family and community violence
- Eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in health care
- Improve access to care for vulnerable populations
