Event Parking at Massachusetts General Hospital
If you are planning to host an event or conference in the near future you should be aware of several changes to the Mass General parking policies that will affect your attendees.
The Department of Police, Security and Outside Services offers event parking through our Mass General Parking and Commuter Services office in the Wang building, room 232. We constantly balance the need for patient and patient visitor parking against the other varied demands of the organization. Patient and patient visitor parking must take priority.
Event parking is based on space availability as defined by the Mass General Parking Department. To reserve event parking or acquire additional information please contact the Mass General Parking and Commuter Services office Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at 617-726-8886 or email MGHCommuterServices@partners.org.
Due to limited availability, all event parking at Mass General must be approved through the Parking and Commuter Services office at least three weeks prior to the scheduled event. Because of the volume of events held at the hospital, we strongly recommend that you finalize parking arrangements prior to notifying attendees of any event.
Because of the hospital’s close proximity to the Charles/Mass General Red Line Station, the use of public transportation whenever possible for all events is recommended.
Event Parking Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
There is no day event parking (weekday or weekend) between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm at any of the Main Campus garages (Fruit Street, Parkman Street, Yawkey, or Charles River Plaza). Event coordinators must make alternate arrangements at non-hospital parking facilities. Event attendees who park in a Mass General garage will be charged the public rate.
Event Parking on Weekday Evenings
We are able to accommodate a limited number of parking spaces in the Main Campus garages (Fruit Street, Parkman Street, Yawkey, or Charles River Plaza) for events that occur after 5:00 pm. The event organizer must receive approval at least three weeks prior to the scheduled event. This is based on the availability of parking spaces. If an event has not been approved by the Parking department, event attendees who park in a Mass General will be charged the public rate.
Event Parking on Weekends
Weekend event parking is available only at the Nashua Street Orange lot (99 Nashua Street). This lot is closed on the weekend ordinarily, so departments sponsoring events will be charged with the cost of staffing the parking lot for the event. Event organizers must receive approval for parking at this location at least three weeks prior to the scheduled event. Event attendees who park in a Mass General garage will be charged the public rate.
Shuttle Service
The Nashua Street Lot is approximately a 10-minute walk to the Main Campus. If you would like to provide shuttle service to your attendees you will need to arrange that separately through the Mass General Brigham Transportation Service (617-726-2250), which will charge a fee for the service.
Accessibility Requirements
If you have attendees with accessibility needs, please contact us. We will work with you to provide alternate parking arrangements.
