About Alexis Drutchas, MD
Alexis Drutchas, MD is an attending physician in the Division of Palliative Care. Dr. Drutchas is originally from Detroit, Michigan, and received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in family medicine at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. During this time Dr. Drutchas became very interested in LGBTQ+ health and health equity, and she co-founded the RI Trans Health Conference in 2015. This conference trained hundreds of providers in gender affirming care from 2015-2019. Following residency, Dr. Drutchas worked as a primary care physician at Fenway Health in Boston and attended the inpatient Fenway Health service at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Drutchas went on to complete the Harvard Palliative Care Fellowship Program 2020 and joined the MGH Palliative Care service as an attending immediately following. Dr. Drutchas provides inpatient palliative care, teaches fellows and residents, and is involved in the fellowship?s efforts to enhance health equity education. She is an avid writer and was selected to be a Public Voices Fellow through the OpEd Project in 2021. Dr. Drutchas is also a current a fellow in the Cambridge Health Alliance Health Equity Education & Advocacy Fellowship.
