Primary Care
Massachusetts General Hospital provides primary care services to more than 200,000 adults and children at multiple locations throughout Greater Boston. Our primary care physicians are highly trained and board-certified in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatric medicine and/or geriatrics, and serve on the faculty of Harvard Medical School.

Hospital Medicine Unit
In 2010, the Hospital Medicine Unit was formalized into an integrated program at Mass General. The unit now comprises the Hospital Medicine Unit, the Clinician Educator Service and Medical Team 5. We are committed to providing high-quality medical care and education in the inpatient setting. Our mission includes:- Continuous improvement in patient care quality and efficiency

The Hospital Medicine Unit comprises more than 60 board-certified internal medicine physicians who specialize in caring for hospitalized patients. There are approximately 11,000 inpatient annual admissions to the hospital medicine service and, on average, hospitalists provide care for 70% of the general medical admissions at Mass General.
Our physicians practice in a variety of inpatient care settings, including high-acuity, regionalized direct patient care; moderate-acuity, non-regionalized direct patient care; and residency teaching teams. We provide high-quality patient care, develop innovative patient safety initiatives and make significant contributions to graduate medical education at Mass General. Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program
Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) provides homeless men, women and children in Boston access to high-quality care.
Multidisciplinary teams at BHCHP, including clinicians from the Division of General Internal Medicine, deliver care at more than 78 sites, including Mass General. Learn more about BHCHP.
The Preventive Genetic Counseling Service
The MGH Preventive Genetic Counseling Service provides accessible, high-quality genetic counseling to patients seeking to learn more about their genetic disease risk.
Our service is entirely virtual. Patients must be in the state of Massachusetts at the time of their video visit and have a primary care physician in the Mass General Brigham system. Learn more about The Preventive Genetic Counseling Service.
