About David Shaywitz, MD, PhD
David Shaywitz, MD, PhD, is Chief Medical Officer at DNAnexus and a Co-Founder and the West Coast Innovation Lead for the Center for Assessment Technology and Continuous Health (CATCH) at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was previously a senior director at Theravance Biopharma, where he focused on strategy and business development and led a product team.
He has prior experience as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, and was an early member of the Department of Experimental Medicine at Merck. Dr. Shaywitz trained in internal medicine and endocrinology at Mass General, and conducted his postdoctoral research in the Melton Lab at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute. He is a co-founder of CATCH, and co-author, with Lisa Suennen, of "Tech Tonics: Can Passionate Entrepreneurs Heal Healthcare With Technology?"
