Stanley Y. Shaw, MD, PhD is co-founder and co-director of the Center for Assessment Technology and Continuous Health (CATCH). CATCH seeks to better assess human wellness and disease through new phenotypes (measurable traits), especially those related to environment and behavior. Phenotypes that can be measured in a more continuous manner, and in the context of people’s daily lives, will enable new models of clinical care and research in which individuals play a central role.

He is a principal investigator in the MGH Center for Systems Biology, an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and an associate member of the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT. His research studies a range of measurable human traits, from systems biology analysis on patient cells, to data mining and analytics using electronic medical records, to continuous behavioral and physiologic sensors. He received his AB in chemistry and physics from Harvard College, and his MD and PhD from Harvard University. He is a practicing cardiologist in the Corrigan Minehan Heart Center at Mass General.
