Radiology Research Administration
Radiology Research Administration is committed to supporting the initiation and conduct of basic and clinical research within the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Radiology by fostering communication, providing access to research resources and offering guidance regarding funding, regulatory requirements and study management.
The Team
The Senior Administrative Research Specialists team facilitates the research efforts of the Radiology Researchers with the goal to provide high quality, reliable and timely research administration support by:
- Serving as resources on grant application preparation and management
- Assisting investigators prepare budgets and budget justifications
- Assisting with the submission of applications
- Obtaining appropriate institutional sign-off
- Providing guidance and support for all aspects of pre-award policies and procedures
- Working extensively with Mass General Brigham Research Management units: Pre-Award, Post Award, Finance, Innovations, Clinical Trials Office
- Ensuring that external funds are spent within research guidelines and in an appropriate manner
- Assisting researchers in keeping track of contract deliverables
- Conducting financial analyses, forecasting and projections for external funding
- Analyzing cash flow to prevent deficit spending working with PIs to prevent projected over expenditures
- Identifying and managing compliance risks
- Managing salary distributions/effort for research personnel
- Submitting invoicing to sponsors where appropriate
- Regularly meeting with investigators

Bruce Rosen MD, PhD
Vice Chair, Department of Radiology ResearchDr. Rosen is the Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Radiology and Director of the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. He leads several large-scale NIH research programs, including the MGH-USC Human Connectome Project Consortium, and serves as the Lawrence Lamson Robbins Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School.

She functions as a resource for investigators and departmental administrators setting administrative direction (policies, procedures, systems, etc) leading the research aspects of the Department of Radiology. Joyce collaborates with physicians, scientists, and departmental leadership to continually direct a wide range of research issues including financial, personnel, operational and regulatory, facilities and systems issues, long-range planning and project development for the basic, clinical, and outcomes research programs of the Department and is responsible for the overall financial management of the Department’s research funding.
