About Jodie Babitt, MD
Jodie L. Babitt is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and completed her Fellowship training in Nephrology at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and has been on staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital since 2005. Dr. Babitt serves as an attending physician on the inpatient nephrology consult, ICU, and dialysis services.

Research
Dr. Babitt's research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of systemic iron balance. She has made important contributions toward understanding the pathogenesis of iron homeostasis disorders including the anemia of chronic kidney disease and the iron overload disorder hereditary hemochromatosis, and she was the 2009 recipient of a Marcel Simon Award for Excellence in the Research of Genetic Hemochromatosis by the International BioIron Society.
