About Jasper Lee, PhD

Jasper Lee, PhD is a clinical psychologist in the Behavioral Medicine Program in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and a member of the faculty at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Lee specializes in behavioral medicine, a branch of psychology that focuses on working with patients who experience both psychological and physical health difficulties. He primarily works with patients to improve psychological well-being in the context of chronic illnesses, injuries, and diseases. Dr. Lee utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-based approach, which is an evidence-based approach for many common mental health disorders. 

Clinically, Dr. Lee focuses on treating patients with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and alcohol and substance use disorders. Dr. Lee's research focuses on developing new treatments for people with multiple co-occurring psychosocial and structural problems that interfere with their treatment for HIV and other infectious diseases in both the United States and internationally. Dr. Lee's research is funded by the NIH (K23MH135748, PI: Lee), the Harvard University Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), and other sources.
