About Usman Ghumman, MBBS
Dr. Usman Ghumman is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the Alan and Lorraine Bressler Clinical and Research Program for Autism Spectrum Disorder at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is also Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Ghumman trained in General Psychiatry at the Texas Tech University of Health Science Center at El Paso, and subsequently completed his Fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. He received training in ECT and TMS.
Dr. Ghumman has been the recipient of the prestigious Beatrix A. Hamburg Award through the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, the Texas Tech University Health Science Center Resident Research Award, and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Data Blitz Award.
Dr. Ghumman's clinical and research interest is in autism spectrum disorder, with a particular focus on comorbid major depression disorder. In addition to providing outpatient care to psychiatrically referred populations of all ages with Autism, Dr. Ghumman is working in clinical research in Autism population with psychopathologies.
Dr. Ghumman shares research updates and expertise in Autism by offering lectures and supervision to trainees, and by organizing educational programs for mental health providers and for families of individuals with Autism.
