About Lucy Finkelstein-Fox, PhD

Dr. Lucy Finkelstein-Fox is a licensed staff psychologist in the Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatric Oncology Programs at MGH. She is a member of the Psychology faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and is a faculty member in the Health Promotion and Resiliency Intervention Research (HPRIR) Center in the Mongan Institute at MGH. Dr. Finkelstein-Fox received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology (with concentrations in Health Psychology and Quantitative Research Methods) at the University of Connecticut and completed her pre- and post-doctoral fellowships at MGH/HMS. Her clinical practice focuses on stress management, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mind-body interventions for individuals impacted by cancer and other chronic medical illnesses.

Research

Dr. Finkelstein-Fox?s research centers broadly on cognitive-behavioral mechanisms of stress reduction among individuals impacted by major medical illness. Much of her current research is focused on the needs of women experiencing cancer-related changes to sexual health and intimate relationships. She also has a longstanding interest in mind-body approaches to managing stress exposure, including mindfulness, yoga practice, and relaxation training.
