Research

Dr. Corrado is the leader of a research team that is developing a new pre-participation screening practice to identify athletes at risk for sudden cardiac death (SCD). Nearly 150 competitive athletes suffer sudden cardiac death (SCD) annually in the United States, a potentially preventable tragic event that affects individuals, families and communities.

Dr. Corrado is researching the use of a portable ultrasound machine to detect heart abnormalities in young athletes rather than the standard history and physical that is used now. The hope is that Dr. Corrado's research will one day help to prevent those devastating and unforeseen deaths. Results show the protocol to be significantly faster, less costly and more accurate than current screening methods.

October 2024

Dr. Corrado was excellent. He made my daughter feel very, very comfortable. She was extremely nervous coming in for the test. I thought he explained everything perfectly. He had just a great demeanor with her. I also want to say both of his physician assistants, and I don't recall their names, they were both wonderful as well. I would absolutely ... Read More

September 2024

It's a total pleasure to see Dr. Corrado. He listens so well. He's just such a nice guy. And something that he does that I really appreciate is that he dictates his notes into the chart with me present so that I can hear what he's saying, ask questions, and make sure that what goes in is accurate from my point of view. And he's accessible and ... Read More
