About Miriam Udler, MD, PhD

Dr. Udler received an A.B. degree cum laude from Harvard College, an M.Phil. and Ph.D. from University of Cambridge, and an M.D. degree from University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center, NY, and her endocrinology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. 

Dr. Udler specializes in treating endocrine disorders, such as diabetes, with a particular focus on endocrine clinical genetics and atypical forms of diabetes.  She is Director of the MGH Diabetes Genetics Clinic and an attending in the MGH Endocrine Tumor Genetics Clinic. 

Dr. Udler conducts clinical research on rare and common genetic contributions to type 2 diabetes.

Dr. Udler's research focuses on rare and common genetic contributions to type 2 diabetes. She has also published papers on kidney disease and breast cancer genetics.

Her research is funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).
