Research

As Director of the Gynecologic Oncology Program, my research interests are centered on advancing the care and outcomes for women with gynecologic cancers through translational and clinical innovation. My work also integrates cutting-edge nanotechnology and systems medicine principles with patient-centered care, aiming to enhance diagnostics and therapeutics for solid tumors, particularly ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers. I am committed to and have demonstrated innovation in liquid biopsy technologies, including pioneering extracellular vesicle-based diagnostic platforms that have demonstrated promising applications across high-tech and resource-limited settings. This translational approach extends to integrating artificial intelligence and decentralized diagnostics to improve global cancer care. I offer extensive experience leading a diverse portfolio of forward-thinking clinical cancer trials, collaborating closely with patients to ensure their clinical needs are met while advancing the field. Additionally, my role involves mentoring clinical and research trainees, fostering their professional development, and guiding them as future leaders in oncology. Our cadre of world-class medical, surgical, and radiation oncology providers strive to deliver impactful solutions that advance the gynecologic oncology field and improve patients' lives locally, nationally, and beyond.
