Christy Egun is responsible for the hospitals’ community health regulatory functions, including the triennial assessment and planning processes and annual compliance reporting requirements. Christy will also be part of a team leading the transition to an integrated MGB community health strategy and team.

Prior to 2023, Christy was the executive director of the Center for Community Health Improvement (CCHI). She also served as CCHI’s Director of Boston Partnerships, Equity & Inclusion for 5 years. Christy’s experience cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with community organizations, elected officials, and other key constituents has led to many successful community-based collaborations for the Center.  

With a passion for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and a dedication to reducing alarming health disparities, Christy collaborated with YW Boston to bring Race Dialogues training for all CCHI staff. She also served as the inaugural chair of CCHI’s staff DE&I committee. Over the past decade, she has led much of the hospital’s youth work, helping to provide local public-school students, many first-generation, with opportunities leading to college, graduate school, and careers in healthcare.   

Christy’s public service efforts include serving as the board chair for Youth Guidance Becoming a Man/Working on Womanhood Boston and serving on the advisory boards of Facing History and Ourselves, Good Sports, and the West End Boys and Girls Club. She is a member of The Boston Club and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. 

Christy previously worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay driving marketing and volunteer recruitment. Earlier in her career, she was an academic advisor in the University of Minnesota’s Upward Bound Program, helping to direct the academic performance of low-income, first generation, college-bound high school students to post-secondary success. She received her Master’s degree from Emerson College.
