The Down Syndrome Adolescent & Young Adult Clinic serves patients from 13 to 21 years of age. Families and youth will be supported and educated about transition planning. The goal is for your child to be prepared for adulthood and as engaged in their own care as possible.
Adolescent & Young Adult Clinic (ages 13-21)
In this clinic, your son or daughter will be seen by all of the following specialists at Mass General for Children and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary:- Physicians who have expertise with Down syndrome (PDF)
- Nutritionist
- Audiologist
- Ophthalmologist
- Program manager
- Social worker
- Self-advocate resource specialist
- Psychologist
- Psychiatrist
- Educational advocate
Specialty Referrals
During the visit to the Down Syndrome Program, your physician might discuss with you the need for other specialty providers to be involved in your son’s or daughter’s care. If your child is followed by a specialist elsewhere, you can certainly continue care with that provider. The following is a partial list of providers that are available at Mass General Hospital:
