About Rachel Rosovsky, MD, MPH

Dr. Rachel Rosovsky is a hematologist and clinical investigator at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School.  She is also the Director of Thrombosis Research in Division of Hematology at MGH and Co-Chair of MGH’s Thrombosis Committee.  

Dr. Rosovsky specializes in disorders of clotting and bleeding as well as anemia and thrombocytopenia.  Her clinical practice is devoted to the risks, diagnosis and treatment of clotting conditions such as pulmonary embolism (PE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), cancer associated thrombosis, and antiphospholipid syndrome. As a clinical investigator, Dr. Rosovsky serves as the principle investigator for several clinical trials and is able to offer new treatment options to patients with these conditions.  Dr. Rosovsky is also the creator/director of Pulmonary Embolism Response Team multidisciplinary follow up clinic as well as runs the outpatient low risk PE and DVT clinic and patients with clotting problems are encouraged to schedule an appointment with Dr. Rosovsky

Dr. Rosovsky earned her undergraduate degree from University of Pennsylvania, medical degree from Harvard Medical School and Master's in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health. She completed residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital and fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute-Massachusetts General Hospital combined program.  

Dr. Rosovsky is one of the founders and President-Elect of Pulmonary Embolism Response Team Consortium, an organization focused on improving the care of patients with PE worldwide.  She is on Medical/Scientific Advisory Board for National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA), a patient advocacy organization and on Executive Committee for Venous thromboEmbolism Network US (VENUS), a network of USA institutions that collaborate on thrombosis care and research.  Since COVID-19 pandemic, she has been actively involved in investigating how COVID-19 and coagulopathy are affecting patients throughout the globe.  Through research and clinical work, Dr. Rosovsky has sought to improve care of patients with blood clots and advance the understanding and treatment of this medical condition for the past 20 years.

Research

Dr. Rosovsky conducts research on disorders of thrombosis and hemostasis. She runs clinical trials focused on the risks, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes in patients with clotting and bleeding conditions. She has published over 90 scholarly manuscripts in these areas and has presented numerous research and clinical presentations at national and international scientific conferences. Her research has appeared in New England Journal of Medicine, Chest, Blood, Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, and The Oncologist.
