Dr. Mark A. Salvatore is the Founder and Clinical Director of the Pediatric Mind-Body Medicine Program at Mass General for Children, whose mission is to destigmatize and educate about the connection between mental, emotional, and physical suffering and empower children, adolescents and young adults living with chronic gastrointestinal illness to improve their well-being. He is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, a Pediatric Consultant at the Benson-Henry Institute and Child Resiliency Program at MGH, and has been a practicing pediatric gastroenterologist since 2006. Dr. Salvatore's primary clinical interest is examining the impact of patient-centered care and Mind-Body Medicine interventions on young people living with chronic gastrointestinal disorders, particularly Disorders of the Gut Brain Interaction (DGBI).
