Bobak Hedayati

Bobak Hedayati, MD

Dr. Bobak Hedayati is currently finishing his PGY-4 year at UCI Dermatology. Next academic year, he will be pursuing a combined Mohs micrographic surgery and laser/cosmetic fellowship at UC Davis. Among his many interests within procedural dermatology, Dr. Hedayati is particularly focused on enhancing patient safety during cosmetic procedures. As dermatologists, we often perform procedures in high-risk areas, and Dr. Hedayati has several ideas he'd like to discuss with experts through the Magic Wand Initiative. Outside of medicine, Dr. Hedayati enjoys movie nights with his wife, golfing, playing basketball, and attending comedy shows with friends.


David Gao, MD

David Gao, MD

Dr. David Gao is a current PGY-3 dermatology resident at Henry Ford. He grew up in Northern Virginia and thereafter attended the University of Chicago, where he obtained B.S. degrees in Biology and Economics. He later completed his medical degree at the University of Illinois. During his time in medical school, David took a research year in Boston, where he developed his interest in clinical trials, leading to multiple publications on the uses of systemic medications for novel indications. He also worked with members of the AAD's skin cancer screening program, SPOT, publishing several manuscripts on the screening program.

David's interests within innovation include advancing the treatment of skin cancers and increasing accessibility of dermatological care to all. At Henry Ford, his interests are diverse: he has published several manuscripts related to Mohs micrographic surgery, is currently leading a clinical trial focused on the novel indication of the thulium laser, and working with dermatologists in Moshi, Tanzania to improve dermatological care in persons with albinism.


Azeen Sadeghian Gebhart, MD

Azeen Sadeghian Gebhart, MD

Dr. Azeen Sadeghian Gebhart is a board-certified Dermatologist in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated summa cum laude from her undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University. She went on to earn her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine and completed her internship at Ochsner Medical Center. She completed a clinical research fellowship and residency in Dermatology at Tulane Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA, where she served as Chief Resident.

Outside of clinical practice, she has worked as a consultant for VisualDx, has been a guest lecturer for VisualDx, Tulane and LSU Dermatology programs, served as an American Academy of Dermatology Advisory Board Member and is a past Chair of the Women’s Dermatologic Society Editorial Committee. She has been published in journals and textbooks including the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, Cutis Journal, and the Moschella and Hurley Dermatology textbook.

Dr. Sadeghian Gebhart loves spending time with her husband and dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and exploring nature.


Stephen Lewellis, MD

Dr. Stephen Lewellis is a Stanford and NYU-trained, board-certified dermatologist with a passion for integrating conventional and functional/lifestyle medicine principles to improve health and happiness through the lens of skin, hair, and nail disease. He is the founder of Above & Beyond Dermatology, an innovative, integrative dermatology center, and specializes in helping individuals with chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), and connective tissue diseases by combining cutting-edge medical treatments with sustainable lifestyle changes to produce a holistic and lasting transformation.

He also cares about getting people with less complicated but still distressing problems timely access to a board-certified dermatologist rather than having to wait months for an appointment. In addition to his practice, he shares his expertise and experience through his podcast, The Direct Care Derm, and the Above & Beyond Dermatology email newsletter.

He lives in Wausau, WI with his wife, Julia, their children, Stellan & Maia, and a Puerto Rican street dog (Sato) named Pippa. Outside of his work as a physician, Dr. Lewellis enjoys reading, cooking, enjoying the great outdoors, and investing in real estate and other small businesses.


Omobola Onikoyi, MD

Dr. Omobola Onikoyi was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island and is currently a rising third year dermatology resident SUNY downstate Medical Center. She completed her undergraduate degree in biological sciences at the University of Rhode Island. She then went on to complete a Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences and her doctorate in medicine both at Touro College of Medicine in New York. She then completed her intern year at Manchester Memorial Hospital in Connecticut and thereafter started dermatology residency at SUNY downstate. Dr. Onikoyi has an extensive research background especially in dermatology clinical trials and she has special interests in procedural dermatology, health care disparities and skin of color.


Pearl Ugwu-Dike, MD

Dr. Pearl Ugwu-Dike is a PGY-2 dermatology resident at New York University. Dr. Ugwu-Dike attended William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, graduating Magna Cum Laude with highest distinction and a degree in biology. She then completed her MD degree at the University of Illinois in Chicago, where she was a Gold Humanism Honor Society Inductee and an Albert Schweitzer Fellow. She has received numerous awards from the Health and Medicine Policy Research Group, The American Academy of Dermatology Diversity Research aware, The Dermatology Foundation, and the Skin of Color Society. She completed her internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School prior to transitioning to New York University for dermatology residency.


Miguel Aristizabal, MD

Miguel Aristizabal, MD

Dr. Miguel Aristizabal is a Research Fellow in Dermatology at the Mayo Clinic in Florida. He completed both medical school and residency in Aesthetic Medicine in Colombia. His passion for entrepreneurship led him to establish the first medical and aesthetic dermatology practice serving 1,000,000 people in an underserved area of Bogota, Colombia. Additionally, Dr. Aristizabal has initiated an affordable and accessible dermatological-grade skin care line with wide acceptance in Colombia.

During his fellowship, Dr. Aristizabal has had the opportunity to collaborate on the development of AI-assisted technologies and dermatology devices. His research interests include medical device development and application, innovative drug delivery systems, artificial intelligence applications in dermatology, and healthcare disparities. He is particularly passionate about making cutting-edge technologies more accessible to historically underserved populations. Dr. Aristizabal’s clinical interests include the assessment and evaluation of skin cancer, alongside utilizing non-invasive and minimally invasive techniques, as well as energy-based devices, for a range of medical and aesthetic dermatological treatments.


Sejal K. Shah, MD

Sejal K. Shah, MD

Dr. Sejal K. Shah is a board-certified dermatologist in private practice in Manhattan. She practices all aspects of dermatology with an expertise in cosmetic dermatology and lasers, hair loss and ethnic skin. Dr. Shah utilizes the latest treatments and technologies to enhance her patients’ natural beauty. Dr. Shah graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama. She continued her postgraduate studies at the prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York where she earned her medical degree. After completing an internship in internal medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, she went on to complete a two-year clinical research fellowship at the Skin of Color Center. She subsequently completed her dermatology residency at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt where she served as chief resident during her senior year. She is currently on faculty in the department of dermatology where she teaches the cosmetic clinic. Dr. Shah has published numerous articles and book chapters and presented at several national and international meetings. She is also frequently featured in mainstream online, print and TV media.


Kelly Park, MD

Kelly Park, MD

Dr. Kelly Park graduated from the exclusive six-year BS/MD program at the Northeast Ohio Medical University, completed her internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital Manhattan in New York City, and dermatology residency at Loyola University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. During her residency, she was twice named a national Resident of Distinction. Dr. Park completed the Psoriasis, Phototherapy, and Clinical Research Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco, the Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship at the Skin Institute of South Florida, and the Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship at Hollywood Dermatology. Dr. Park also earned her Master of Studies in Law degree at the University of California Hastings College of the Law. She is Adjunct Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Northeastern Ohio Medical University and Affiliate Faculty at the Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University of Chicago. She has authored well over 50 peer‐reviewed journal articles and book chapters in her areas of expertise, including Mohs micrographic surgery, cosmetic dermatologic surgery, psoriasis, phototherapy, and vitiligo. She has been published in numerous journals and serves as Associate Editor for the International Journal of Women’s Dermatology. Dr. Park is the editor of two books: Vitiligo: Management and Therapy and Contemporary Diagnosis and Management in Dermatoprevention: Psoriasis and Its Comorbidities.


Varun Ranpariya, MD

Dr. Varun Ranpariya is currently a PGY-2 dermatology resident at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He graduated from the accelerated BA/MD program at Rutgers University/Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. His interests include cutaneous oncology, teledermatology, and AI.


Caroline Zhu, MD

Caroline Zhu, MD

Dr. Caroline Zhu is a dermatology resident at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She graduated from UT Health San Antonio's accelerated BS/MD Program, with Distinctions in Research and Medical Education. During medical school, she explored various avenues of translational and clinical research, resulting in numerous publications and awards. She is dedicated to addressing barriers to healthcare for underserved populations, consistently volunteering at student-run free dermatology clinics since her undergraduate years. She has an interest in hair disorders and hair restoration, as well as product development and innovation.


Thomas Le, MD, MPH

Thomas Le, MD, MPH

Dr. Thomas Le is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. He did his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley and his MD and MPH at Johns Hopkins University. With a background in health service research and epidemiology, Thomas is broadly interested in leveraging technology and innovation to solve clinical problems. He is looking forward to applying the skills from the Magic Wand Initiative to tackle challenging problems in the field of dermatology.

Dr. Sino Mehrmal is a PGY-4 dermatology resident at St. Louis University and a soon-to-be Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology fellow at Baylor University Medical Center. He obtained his bachelor's degree in nursing from CSU East Bay and attended Midwestern University for medical school. He is passionate about hidradenitis suppurativa, acne, procedural dermatology, teaching, and mentorship. His interest in innovation sparked during residency, and he hopes to bring innovative dermatologic solutions to populations with the greatest needs.


Isabella Camacho-Hubbard, MD

Isabella Camacho-Hubbard, MD

Dr. Isabella Camacho-Hubbard grew up in Miami, FL and earned her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She is completing her dermatology residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center. Throughout her education, she has been dedicated to community outreach, advocacy, and health equity. She has volunteered her time at outreach clinics as well as worked on projects focused on health care disparities and the impact of ethnicity on skin cancer awareness and patient education.

She has a clinical interest in cutaneous oncology, dermatologic surgery, and laser-based therapies. She will be starting her Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine this year. With a drive to address barriers to care, she is passionate about engaging in research aimed at developing novel dermatologic solutions specifically tailored to address the needs of underserved communities.
