About the Program

The LIFT Clinic at Mass General Brigham is a specialized program for liver transplant patients facing alcohol use and mental health challenges.

The clinic is based at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and serves all patients in the Mass General Brigham Liver Transplant Program, including those referred from Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH).

Our multidisciplinary team includes transplant specialists, mental health experts, social workers, and case managers. Through personalized care, we help patients avoid returning to drinking and support them in staying healthy long-term. Through ongoing research, we aim to better understand what leads to alcohol use after a liver transplant and develop more effective ways to prevent it.
