Center for Precision Psychiatry 2025 Summer Internship Program
General Summary:
The Center for Precision Psychiatry (CPP) is an innovative research and clinical implementation center launched by the MGH Department of Psychiatry. The mission of the CPP is to integrate research and clinical practice to enable more accurate risk prediction, targeted prevention, precise diagnosis, and effective treatments for psychiatric disorders. A major focus of the Center is a deep investment in addressing the problem of suicide, including the prediction and prevention of suicidal behaviors and the care of patients across all areas of medicine who are affected by this growing public health crisis. Drawing on Mass General Psychiatry’s world-class expertise in big data analytics, genomics, neuroscience, precision medicine, and clinical trials, the Center is uniquely positioned to lead this rapidly emerging field.The CPP is seeking undergraduate or graduate level summer interns to work closely with Center Faculty and participate in day-to-day operations and research initiatives, gaining invaluable research experience.
Interns will be involved in new and ongoing projects which are being conducted by the Center for Precision Psychiatry. Interns will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in administrative and marketing functions, assisting with tasks such as managing communications and supporting outreach efforts to increase awareness of the Center's initiatives.

• An internship stipend is available.
• The Intern may work in-person or remotely.
Skills and Competencies:
- Computer skills, including prior use of Microsoft Office platforms,
- Ideal candidates will have experience with qualitative and/or statistical coding and/or platforms such Qualtrics, RedCap and online survey platforms
- Excellent writing skills,
- Excellent problem-solving skills,
- Strong interpersonal skills,
- Ability to multitask,
- Extremely detail oriented and excellent organizational skills,
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Weekly availability over a period of up to 10 weeks,
- Demonstrated interest in suicide prevention, mental health, and/or precision psychiatry,
- A desire to learn in a fast-paced hospital research setting,
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible,
- 1 or 2 years of prior direct or indirect research experience.
Internship Timeline:
- Applications are due Friday, May 16th, 2025, 5:00pm ET.
- Internship period is typically July 1st through August, 2025.

The Center for Precision Psychiatry (CPP) invites applications for the 2025 Emerging Innovators in Precision Psychiatry Awards. This opportunity recognizes the contributions of early career investigators in the emerging area of precision psychiatry. Winners will be selected to present their work at the virtual 5th Annual Conference on Precision Psychiatry on September 25th and 26th, 2025 and will receive a $500 USD honorarium.
