Follow the Dr. Paul Dudley White Charles River Bike Path from the Museum of Science to the Galen Street Bridge in Watertown for a scenic 17-mile loop along both shores of the Charles River. Turn along one of the many bridges to shorten your ride or walk:
- 4-mile loop: Go over the Massachusetts Ave. Bridge
- 7-mile loop: Turn at the River St. Bridge
- 10-mile loop: Go over the Eliot Bridge
Mass General Hospital Police, Security and Outside Services provide access to three employee-access, secure bike cages located at:
- Corner of Parkman Street and North Anderson St., across from the Mass General Hospital main campus’s Wang Circle
- Charles River Plaza parking lot by Simches Building
- Charlestown Navy Yard (CNY) Building 199 garage
Though the cages are in locked facilities, it is strongly recommended that employees also lock their bikes. Employees can obtain access to the bike cages by registering–with a one-time $10 fee–in the Commuter Services Office in Wang 232, or at the Office of Police and Security on the first floor of CNY Building 149.
A vigorous 5-mile walk will do more good for an unhappy but otherwise healthy adult than all the medicine and psychology in the world.
