Rev. Katie Rimer is an Episcopal priest and board-certified Chaplain. From 2014-2022 she served as the Director of Spiritual Care and Education at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where she built a thriving department of spiritual care and integrated chaplains in all aspects of care. Prior to her leadership role Katie practiced palliative care chaplaincy at BIDMC in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Katie has degrees from Bowdoin College (BA, Sociology), Harvard Divinity School (MDiv), and Harvard Graduate School of Education (EdD). Her doctoral thesis is entitled, "Spiritual Care and Transformative Learning in Biomedicine: Clinical Pastoral Education for Healthcare Providers." Katie is a seasoned educator and has published articles and chapters on themes related to spiritual care in palliative care. Her passions are teaching, mentoring, and clinical work.
