Research

Dr. Zachary Wallace conducts clinical epidemiology research with a focus on multi-system rheumatic diseases, especially IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) and ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV).  He has received advanced training in clinical epidemiology through a Masters of Science in Epidemiology from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Wallace has conducted research and provided clinical care for patients with IgG4-RD since the beginning of his residency. He is a member of the Center for IgG4-RD which is an NIH Autoimmune Center of Excellence. His research in IgG4-RD is focused on the epidemiology of the disease, clinical trials, and outcome tool development. In AAV, he is interested in improving long-term outcomes, including mortality, cardiovascular disease, and end-stage renal disease, through the application of advanced clinical and pharmacoepidemiology to identify optimal treatment regimens.  His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Rheumatology Research Foundation, and the Executive Committee on Research at MGH.
