Monochromatic X-rays: The future of medical imaging
The X-ray tube technology is over a century old, and it produces X-rays of wide spectrum of energies. Such polychromatic radiations cause degradation of image quality and increase patient radiation dose. We have cooperated with Imagine Scientific and produced following publications on development of technology and its applications:
- Innovative monochromatic x-ray source for high-quality and low-dose medical imaging
- Monochromatic X-rays: The future of breast imaging
- NIH-SBIR Grant
NIH has awarded a project entitled: “STARLIGHT, The Next Generation X-ray Imaging Technology” under SBIR (1R44CA268468) to Eric Silver for further development of this technology. Dr. Madan Rehani is a co-investigator.
