The Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC) at Massachusetts General Hospital was founded in 1990 to bridge the gap between the science of heart disease and the practice of cardiovascular medicine.

Our longstanding tradition of pioneering research breakthroughs has led to new treatments for patients with heart disease and related disorders such as diabetes and obesity.

Led by a team of renowned physician-scientists, the CVRC blends the most advanced laboratory and clinical research with state-of-the-art medical care to produce the best possible outcomes for patients.

Our physicians and physician-scientists examine patients to identify cardiovascular disease in its earliest stages. Then, we work together to suppress each patient's disease, halt its progression and reverse it. Our findings can also help prevent the patient's children from developing heart disease.
