Esteban Barreto, Director of Evaluation

Esteban Barreto, PhD, is the Director of Evaluation of Equity and Community Health at Massachusetts General Hospital. For more than a decade at Mass General, Esteban has been involved in a variety of research areas such as health policy, program evaluation, patient experience and work culture. Esteban received a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

As Director of Evaluation, Esteban will develop and execute the short and long-term evaluation of all programs related to diversity, equity and inclusion at Mass General, providing the basis for measuring concrete outcomes across the organization. Esteban will work closely with all clinical departments and service line leaders to develop a standard and uniform evaluation framework and set of metrics.
