Who We Are

Each year, the Mass General Department of Pharmacy recruits the top candidates from schools of pharmacy around the country for the Pharmacy Residency Programs. Our residents come from across the United States and bring diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and training to the department and institution. As do our clinical and administrative pharmacy preceptors, who are specialty trained and experts in their chosen field. All our staff are dedicated to the continual growth and development of our residents and programs.

As a Mass General resident, you will get to experience the many riches that Boston has to offer. You’ll quicky be able to immerse yourself it its historic charm, lush parks, and plentiful activities beyond pharmacy practice.

Nestled in the iconic Beacon Hill district, the Mass General campus is surrounded by beautiful brownstone architecture and charming brick pathways. Here, your pharmacy education will converge with community, allowing you to contribute to Boston's growing healthcare narrative.

Nearby is the historic Charles Street, which hosts many boutiques and culinary gems. The Charles River Esplanade offers a peaceful escape from the busy city, while Newbury Street is the place to be for luxury shopping and additional exceptional sights and landmarks.

History enthusiasts will relish the Freedom Trail, guiding you through early chapters of America. Explore the Boston Massacre site, Faneuil Hall, Paul The Old North Church, and more—all testaments to Boston's role in shaping the nation.

Across the Charles River is Cambridge, an intellectual hub housing Harvard University and MIT. These institutions inspire innovation and have partnered with MGH in the past to push the boundaries of healthcare education and technology.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our MGH pharmacy residents are dedicated to fostering cultural competence and engagement in the work environment. They aim to instill a genuine sense of belonging in all individuals with whom they interact, including staff and patients alike. Our pharmacy residents of all classes have diverse backgrounds, with roots that span across the United States and the globe.

The pharmacy residents annually hold a session to articulate their understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and its significance within their individual practice and work environment. As a part of this collaboration, they have accomplished DEI deliverables, with examples including a roundtable discussion, crafting of definitions of diversity, equity, and inclusion as it relates to their personal and professional journeys, and more.

In collaboration and individual practice, our pharmacy residents strive to uphold their commitment to inclusive and equitable care.

PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residents

Morgan CrawfordMorgan Crawford

Dr. Morgan Crawford is from Canton, OH. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and Master’s of Translation Pharmacology and Toxicology Degree from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include critical care, emergency medicine, and neurology. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys traveling, visiting national parks, and trying new local coffee shops. Dr. Crawford plans to pursue a PGY-2 in critical care after completion of the residency year.


Madeline (Maddie) SchultzeMadeline (Maddie) Schultze

Dr. Madeline (Maddie) Schultze is from Hawthorn Woods, IL, and she obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. Her clinical interests include oncology and internal medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, exploring Boston, staying active, reading, and cooking. Dr. Schultze plans to pursue a PGY-2 in oncology following PGY-1.


Julia JandroJulia Jandro

Dr. Julia Jandro is from St. Louis, MO. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Missouri - Kansas City after obtaining her undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the University of Missouri - Columbia (Mizzou). In her free time, Julia enjoys staying active, doing anything from going on walks and runs to biking, swimming, and fitness classes. Julia's practice interests include oncology and pediatrics, and she hopes to complete a PGY-2 residency in one of these areas next year.


Anna PiechAnna Piech

Dr. Anna Piech is from Mokena, IL. She obtained her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and PharmD from Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy (War Eagle!!). Her practice interests include critical care, cardiology, and infectious diseases. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys watching movies, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling. Dr. Piech plans to pursue a PGY-2 in critical care or cardiology after completion of the residency year.


Allison BickerAllison Bicker

Dr. Allison Bicker is from Troy, Missouri. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at Northeastern University School of Pharmacy in Boston and is completing her Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Health-System Pharmacy Administration through the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include medication safety, pharmacy operations, and outpatient infusion services. She enjoys watching movies, taking long walks around Boston, and playing tennis. Dr. Bicker plans to continue as a PGY-2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership resident after completing her PGY-1 residency.


Carolyn RossCarolyn Ross

Dr. Carolyn Ross is from Rockville Centre, NY. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include oncology, clinical trials, and immunology. Outside of pharmacy, Carolyn enjoys reading, sailing, and exploring Boston. Carolyn plans to pursue a PGY-2 in oncology after completion of the residency year.


Gabrielle JonesGabrielle Jones

Dr. Gabrielle Jones is from Long Island, New York. She completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at SUNY New Paltz and obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy from Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy in Nashville, TN. Her practice interests include critical care, cardiology, and emergency medicine. In her free time, she likes cuddling with her dogs, Sophie and Luna, and baking sourdough bread. Following her PGY1 year, Gabrielle will pursue a PGY2 in an area of her interest.


Aashtha ShahAashtha Shah

Dr. Aashtha Shah is from Mansfield, OH. She completed both her Bachelors of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in Columbus, Ohio. She has a passion for developing a career in clinical pharmacy with a specialization in Hematology/Oncology. In her free time, Aashtha enjoys traveling, exploring different restaurants and cuisines, and tending to her plants. Aashtha will be pursuing a PGY-2 Oncology Residency position after the completion of PGY-1.


PGY-2 Pharmacy Practice Residents

Jiye (Jennifer) ParkJiye (Jennifer) Park

Dr. Jiye (Jennifer) Park is from Old Tappan, NJ. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Northeastern University in Boston. Her practice interests include cardiology and infectious disease. In her free time, Jiye enjoys traveling and finding new restaurants in the various cities within the east coast. Jiye plans on pursuing a clinical pharmacist specialist position after the completion of PGY-2.


Sung Jin (Julie) JeongSung Jin (Julie) Jeong

Dr. Sung Jin (Julie) Jeong is from Baltimore, MD. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, and her PGY-1 training at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her practice interests include critical care, infectious disease, and neurology. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys traveling, reading, and trying new restaurants. After this year, she hopes to obtain BCCCP certification and a position as a critical care specialist.


Miranda MoserMiranda Moser

Dr. Miranda Moser is from Morgantown, WV and graduated from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy with her Doctor of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY-1 residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and is the current PGY-2 in solid organ transplant. Her interest in solid organ transplant includes transitions of care, patient education, and management of transplantation complications. She enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, attending group fitness classes, and watching the latest Netflix series! Dr. Moser plans to obtain BCTXP certification and pursue a career as a solid organ transplant clinical pharmacy specialist at an academic medical center with the opportunity to participate in precepting after completion of the residency year.


Emily ButtermoreEmily Buttermore

Dr. Emily Buttermore is from Lakeville, MA. She completed both undergraduate and Doctor of Pharmacy at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston. Her practice interests include oncology, clinical trials, and ambulatory care. In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling and exploring new places around Boston. Emily completed her PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and is currently training in PGY-2 Oncology.


Jen GiuliettiJen Giulietti

Dr. Jen Giulietti is from Wallingford, CT. She obtained her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Providence College, Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Northeastern University, and completed PGY-1 training at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her practice interests include neurologic emergencies, hematologic disorders (anticoagulation management and reversals), toxicology, and pediatric emergencies. In her free time, she enjoys running, spin, and spending time with her family and cat Mochi. Following completion of her residency, Jen plans to pursue board certification (BCEMP) and hopes to obtain an emergency medicine pharmacist position with opportunities to teach and precept.


Raluca LazaRaluca Laza

Dr. Raluca Laza is originally from Romania and grew up in southeast Michigan. She completed her undergraduate degree in pharmaceutical sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan. She completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Laza is currently completing her PGY-2 pharmacy residency in oncology. Her current practice interests include ambulatory care, leukemia, and academia. Dr. Laza enjoys running, F45 fitness classes, baking new recipes, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Laza plans to pursue a career as a hematology/oncology clinical specialist at an academic medical center with the opportunity to hold an academic appointment after completing residency.


Amelia BarberAmelia Barber

Dr. Amelia Barber is from Peoria, IL. She graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy from Butler University and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization in Health System Pharmacy Administration through the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include formulary management, medication use policy, and pharmacy operations. She enjoys exploring Boston, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Barber plans to pursue a career in pharmacy administration at an academic medical center following completion of her PGY-2 residency year.


Hollis WymanHollis Wyman

Dr. Hollis Wyman is from Marlborough, MA. He obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy from Northeastern University in Boston and completed his PGY-1 at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center. His practice interests include trauma/resuscitation, antimicrobial stewardship, toxicology, and med safety. In his free time, Dr. Wyman enjoys basketball (go Celtics!), attending concerts, and spending time outdoors.
