About Marwa Ahmed, MD, MS
Dr. Ahmed joins us with extensive experience in athletic coverage, including professional events, and injury management across all levels of athletes. Specializing in non-surgical sports and spine medicine, Dr. Ahmed received her medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, where she was also peer selected as the recipient of the Good Physician Award (“He/She that demonstrates those qualities of an ideal physician”). She completed her residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Weill Cornell Medical College and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Ahmed then pursued an interventional spine and musculoskeletal fellowship at a private practice in New York City’s bustling midtown Manhattan followed by a sports medicine fellowship at Stanford University, one of the country’s most prestigious programs.
With a Master of Science in human genetics as well as training in integrative medicine, she brings a unique understanding and approach to diagnosis, treatment and prevention of sports injuries. Dr. Ahmed’s treatment philosophy is one that incorporates and optimizes an individual’s nutritional status and lifestyle to cultivate and promote tissue healing, prevent injury and optimize performance. This approach in conjunction with her skill sets in regenerative orthopedics, diagnostic and interventional ultrasound has frequently resulted in profound success stories.
Dr. Ahmed’s research focus is on sports genetics and nutritional genomics. She is passionate about improving our understanding of the role of genetics in musculoskeletal injury risk as well as the molecular mechanisms that underlie physical performance, cellular aging, injury and repair. In the dawning age of genetic testing, Dr. Ahmed’s work is pioneering and paving her path as an expert in the emerging field of sports genomics.

It was a terrific appointment. I couldn't have asked for a better one.
Excellent care. Took the time to explain the procedure and what to expect.
The care was excellent
Dr Ahmed is a star. I recommend her to everyone.
Dr. Ahmed was thorough - listened and answered questions even if they were repetitive She explained in lay men's terms which were easy to understand
Very focused on PT interventions as a solution for painful arthritis.
My experience was absolutely positive the entire time. I was there. The doctor, Dr. Ahmed, was very professional, was very polite. She had really good listening skills, and I really did appreciate how well she listened to my specific issues and problems regarding my injury. I'm very pleased and thankful to have met such a great provider.
Dr.Ahmed Did not ask many questions regarding my medical history, all of which is available to her the Patient Gateway, exhibited no interest in my anatomical history or my physical therapy history for the prior 15 months, and specifically, a discussion of my kinesiological history or limitations of the past 15 months.
Dr. A. was friendly, personable, polite, and strove to give helpful information. Dr. A. took a good history, and did some physical strength and motion testing. I frequently felt rushed and wasn't able to discuss things in as much depth as I wished. Eg. She told me that "As we age we develop some arthritis," (which I think most people ... Read More
I love Dr Ahmed. Even though Spalding is not terribly convenient for me, I will continue to go because I trust Dr. Ahmed's advice. She is thoughtful, she listens extremely well, she spends time with me, andI feel that she is concerned about my welfare.
