About Akriti Sinha, MD

Dr. Sinha received her medical training from one of Asia’s largest hospitals, VMMC and Safdarjung, New Delhi, India in 2016. She served as a Clinical Research Scholar at the University of Miami in Addiction Medicine before starting her residency at the University of Missouri, Columbia. After completing her appointment as Chief Resident of education, she was awarded American Psychiatric Association Resident Recognition award in 2021. She also served as a fellow from The MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago in 2022. 

Before joining as a faculty at MGH, she worked for the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services in an acute inpatient forensic unit. She served as the head of the multidisciplinary team as well as the Chief of Staff and treated civil and forensic patients. She was also appointed as an Evaluator of Forensic assessments including competency and sanity evaluations after completing Adult Basic Forensic Program offered by the Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy at the University of Virginia.

Her clinical and research interests revolve around Medicine-Psychiatry Interface; Psychoneuroimmunology, Neuroendocrinology, Mind Body Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, Nutritional and Metabolic Psychiatry and Narrative Medicine. 

As a faculty at MGH and Harvard Medical School (HMS), she shall be providing clinical care at Primary Care Psychiatry and Urgent Care Psychiatry. Both settings align with her interests and allow her to practice using multidimensional modalities- behavioral coaching, pharmacology, psychotherapy, and lifestyle modifications to empower patients and obtain optimal response.
