About Max Jan, MD, PhD
Dr. Max Jan received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and M.D. from the University of California at San Francisco. He completed Clinical Pathology residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital and fellowship in Molecular Genetic Pathology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Jan completed a postdoctoral fellowship mentored by Dr. Benjamin Ebert at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Dr. Marcela Maus at Mass General, where he studied genetic mechanisms of leukemic relapse after immune cell therapy and engineered drug-regulated chimeric antigen receptors. Dr. Jan joined the Mass General Cancer Center and Department of Pathology faculty in 2021. He is principal investigator of a lab developing synthetic biology tools for cell engineering to treat cancer. His clinical interests include molecular diagnostics to support precision medicine and immunotherapy.
