About Cian McCarthy, MBBCH, BAO
Dr. McCarthy is a cardiologist and researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. McCarthy completed medical school at University College Cork, Ireland, graduating with a first-class honors degree in 2015. He received a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2023. Dr. McCarthy completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 2019. He completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 2023 which included clinical training in cardiac computed tomography. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. McCarthy’s research focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and management of heart disease with a particular focus on coronary artery disease and heart attacks.
