About Francine Hughes, MD
Francine Hughes, MD, is the chief of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) at Massachusetts General Hospital in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Hughes is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She received her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson and completed her residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. She completed both a clinical and a research fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center.
As a maternal-fetal medicine specialist, Dr. Hughes focuses her clinical practice on high-risk pregnancies, including care for women with medical and pregnancy complications and the prenatal diagnosis of congenital malformations, genetic abnormalities, and fetal growth problems. Her clinical interests include diabetes in pregnancy, obesity, and the long-term effects of intrauterine exposures.
