About Michal Plocienniczak, MD

Dr. Michal Plocienniczak is a laryngeal surgeon at the MGH Center for Laryngeal Surgery and Voice Rehabilitation. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of laryngeal disease with emphasis in the care of the performing and professional voice, phonotraumatic vocal cord lesions, vocal fold paralysis, laryngeal and subglottic stenosis, laryngeal cancer, spasmodic dysphonia, and recurrent respiratory papillomatosis. He is skilled in phonomicrosurgery, endolaryngeal laser procedures, vocal fold injections, and laryngeal framework procedures. He also treats a variety of sinus and nasal complaints using both endoscopic (minimally invasive) and open surgical techniques. His current research interests include respiratory recurrent papillomatosis and development of improved laryngeal imaging techniques. He received his B.S. in Biology from Boston College, M.Sc. in Medical Science from Boston University, and his M.D. from the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Boston Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in laryngeal surgery at the MGH Center for Laryngeal Surgery and Voice Rehabilitation with Dr. Steven Zeitels.
