About Youngsuk Kim, PhD

Dr. Kim is a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, specializing in evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) for trauma, PTSD, and anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia, and specific phobias. She also treats depression, grief, interpersonal, cultural, and occupational stress, as well as burnout.

Dr. Kim is a staff psychologist in the Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic and Research Program and the Adult Intensive CBT Program in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Independent of her role at MGH, she has a private practice, Psychological Care and Consultancy, PLLC, where she provides integrative therapeutic care to late adolescents and adults. She also serves as an honorary psychologist with the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust in the UK.

Dr. Kim earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005, completed her doctoral internship at Cambridge Health Alliance and Harvard Medical School, and pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at VA Boston Healthcare System and Harvard Medical School. She is also qualified to practice as a clinical psychologist in the UK, where she obtained a postgraduate diploma in clinical neuropsychology. In Cambridgeshire, she held a clinical leadership role in a secondary mental health service, providing clinical care, training, and supervision for both psychology and non-psychology staff and doctoral trainees.
