Researchers Find that Accelerated Aging Biology in the Placenta Contributes to a Rare Form of Pregnancy-Related Heart Failure
Blocking senescence or “aging” in the placenta may help prevent or treat this major cause of maternal death.
Dr. Jason Roh received his MD and MHS from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Dr. Roh’s clinical interests focus on cardiovascular care in the elderly, and he runs an inter-disciplinary geriatric-cardiology clinic in collaboration with the MGH Senior Health practice. His translational research explores the intersection between aging and cardiovascular disease, combining proteomics discovery-based investigations in humans with mechanistic work in animal models of cardiac aging and heart failure.
