About Deborah Kwolek, MD
Deborah Gomez Kwolek, MD, FACP, FAMWA, MSCP is an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and is the founding lead of the Mass General Women’s Health and Sex and Gender Medicine Program. She is a certified specialist through the Menopause Society and a practicing primary care physician.
Dr. Gomez Kwolek has over 30 years of experience in Women’s Health and Sex and Gender Medicine. Throughout her career, she has focused on improving education in this field at regional, national, and international levels. She co-edited and co-wrote the first textbook in the field that serves as a guide and curriculum for primary care clinicians and trainees. She co-wrote competencies in the field that serve as the Society of General Internal Medicine’s (SGIM) national curriculum standard. She has also published many articles, secured funded projects, and delivered national presentations in the field.
Dr. Gomez Kwolek serves as the course director for three HMS post-graduate CME courses: Primary Care Internal Medicine, General Internal Medicine for Specialists, and the newly created Women’s Health and Menopause course.
In addition to her educational work, Dr. Gomez Kwolek chairs the Sex and Gender Health Collaborative of the American Medical Women’s Association/Medical International Women’s Association. She also serves on the International Innovation Equity Forum of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Gomez Kwolek provides menopause consultations, and is an associate physician at the Fish Center for Women's Health.
