About Leon Ptaszek, MD, PhD

Dr. Ptaszek received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency training at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and then completed fellowships in cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Ptaszek is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and MGH.His clinical interests focus on the management of patients with heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Ptaszek performs catheter ablations of supraventricular tachycardias (SVTs) and premature ventricular contractions (PVCs). He also implants pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices. His research interests include the development of novel ablation catheters and high-resolution arrhythmia mapping systems.
