Research

Dr. Gardiner is interested in anterior segment surgery and emergency ophthalmology. With a particular interest in eye trauma and anterior segment reconstruction following eye injuries, he spends time writing as well as speaking locally and to the lay press about the importance of eye protection and safety. He works closely with the other departments of Mass. Eye and Ear to create guidelines for trainees and consultants with regard to their roles the Emergency Department. He has won the Teacher of the Year award twice.
