Vietnam Vet Willie Murphy is a 'New Man' After Sciatica Surgery at Mass General
Willie Murphy was suffering from crippling sciatica. After a successful prior surgery, Willie decided to return to Massachusetts General Hospital for an evaluation and care. He was referred to Jean Coumans, MD, a neurosurgeon in the Department of Neurosurgery.
Dr. Coumans has been my doctor for many years. He always takes time to listen to my concerns and explains things to me in a way that I can understand.
Dr Coumans is extremely knowledgeable about his field of practice. But he also listens to the patient and the patient's concerns and response appropriately.
My visit with Dr. Jean-Valery on [redacted] was very pleasant. I felt a sense of comfort while he explain to me in detail step by step with my back condition and showed me the problem on the MRI scan that I provided. I feel comfortable going forward knowing that am in good hands.
Good listener. Knowledgable and very nice.
The best !!
Dr. Coumans an excellent physician. Despite his intellectual intelligence, he explained my diagnosis and possible treatments so that I understood. Thorough, great listener and best so-called bed side manner I have ever experienced in my [redacted] years. I would recommend, and I have not as yet had surgery. Give my thanks.
Dr Jean-Valery Coumans is an exceptional care provider who is pleasant, welcoming, knows your health issues, explains the diagnoses and the prognoses in understandable language while being personable and making you feel comfortable and having complete confidence in his care.
I felt confident in Dr. Coumans' perspective. That's it.
Dr Coumans is an amazing doctor. He takes the time to explain things and always answers questions thoroughly.
Was very honest and did not push any treatments not supposed by the diagnosis
