I completed my undergraduate training at the University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry. I matriculated to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for medical school, and in 1988, also participated in a summer internship at the NIH working with the development of a rapid diagnostic skin test for people infected with Strongyloides stercoralis, before starting my clinical years. I completed my internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at LBJ Hospital and the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. I finally left Texas and ventured to the northeast, where I completed my fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at New England Medical Center (NEMC)/ Tufts Medical School. I continued on staff at NEMC for 6 years before coming to Massachusetts General Hospital.
Over my career, I have focused on the surgical aspect of infertility and reproduction. This includes endometriosis, fibroids, surgical repair of uterine anomalies and scar tissue, and repair of damaged fallopian tubes. I also co-direct the Mass General Integrated Fibroid Program. I have a strong interest in fertility treatment outcomes, reproductive surgery outcomes, environmental factors and reproduction, diversity in reproductive health care treatments.
John Christopher Petrozza was extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable. He explained everything clearly and ensured we knew what to expect that day. He was also very friendly toward my husband, making the experience even better. His professionalism and personable approach truly set him apart. I definitely recommend him to everyone.
Everyone was very nice and friendly. But I wish they had told me how much pain would this bring, I would have never let them do it to myself. Provider was nice and professional.
Dr. Petrozza operated on me last year and helped me a lot with my questions and also with medical check-ups.
Everyone is very friendly. They explain the procedures to you. I feel very comfortable in this hospital and I recommend it.
Very reassuring and pleasant
Dr. Petrozza made me feel very reassured when going into surgery with him. I highly recommend him for minimally invasive OBGYN support.
He was very opening about hearing on what is going on and how he can help me and my husband have a baby ! He had a lot more opinions than my last Doctor at Boston ivf! We left the zoom meeting very confident about what he said to us !
Dr. Petrozza was personable, knowledgeable, and understanding. He presented test results and a plan moving forward in a detailed but understandable way. He took the time to answer all questions, which were a bunch since this was our first visit. I feel optimistic and comfortable in his care.
Great experience, very calm and confident doctor which I appreciate
Dr. PETROZZA was phenomenal. he was friendly, knowledgeable, warm, and very thorough. He established rapport and helped create a comfortable environment, even though we were discussing less than ideal circumstances. He was great!
