About Mayra Lorenzo, MD, PhD

Mayra E. Lorenzo, MD PhD  is a board-certified dermatologist and Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School.   Dr. Lorenzo received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University, cum laude.  Subsequently, she received a PhD in Virology and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School.  She completed her internal medicine internship at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and her residency in dermatology at UMass Memorial Medical Center, where she was chief resident.

Dr. Lorenzo is the co-author of both peer-reviewed and non-peer reviewed articles. She's been invited to speak to both healthcare professionals and community audiences.  As well as general dermatology, Dr. Lorenzo's clinical interests are infectious diseases in dermatology and skin cancer surgery.

Provider asked questions about my history and was very interested. She did an excellent job and was very thorough.

While I like the provider and find her very knowledgeable she was unfortunately very dismissive telling me that her other patients were waiting and I had too many questions. She spent less than 10min and there was no alternative offerred such as a follow-up appointment or the chance to speak with a nurse, etc as the doctor did not have more time. ... Read More
