CDI Resident & Fellow Committee
About the RFC
The CDI established the Resident and Fellow Committee (RFC) as an inter-departmental forum for underrepresented in medicine (URM) trainees at Mass General. The RFC is led by residents and/or fellows who are elected by their peers. In May 2008, the Board was restructured to include three new officers: Education and Career Development Officer, Public Relations Officer and Community Outreach Officer. We assist with residency recruitment, and offer opportunities to socialize and network among peers, enhance career development and become involved in the larger Harvard and Boston communities.
RFC Initiatives
- Residency recruitment
- "Ins and Out" Program, designed to provide career and leadership development to residents and fellows through quarterly workshops and seminars
- Monthly networking opportunities among residents and fellows
- Mentoring students in the URM HMS Mentorship Program, Summer Research Trainee Program (SRTP), and the Center for Community Health Improvement Boston Partnerships. Senior residents also provide peer mentoring and guidance to interns through various CDI resident programs
- Community service in the greater Boston community, including participation in health fairs and volunteering with high school students through community programs organized by CDI and the Center for Community Health Improvement
If you are a Mass General or integrated program URM resident or fellow and are interested in getting involved or learning more about the RFC, please contact one of the members of the Executive Board.
